Pack Your Bags

Here are some helpful suggestions to ensure you’re fully prepared for your trip to Costa Rica.
Travel Essentials
-
Passport (double-check it’s packed!) Must be valid during the duration of your stay (6 months recommended)
-
A photo or copy of your passport (paper or saved on your phone)
-
Airline confirmation details
-
Return Flight Information
-
Travel-size toiletries in carry-on (in case of delayed luggage)
CASH FOR TIPPING
While tipping is not required, it is a thoughtful way to show appreciation. We recommend bringing small bills ($1s and $5s) to tip your bell staff, bartenders, servers, drivers, and excursion guides.
USD is accepted for tipping at the resort. For security purposes, we recommend bringing no more than $200 in cash.
MONEY FOR INCIDENTALS
The resort will require a personal credit or debit card at check-in for incidentals. A temporary hold may be placed on your card and released after checkout. A credit card is recommended.
For purchases at the resort or while exploring, we recommend using a credit card or Costa Rican Colones.
MEDICATION AND PERSONAL ITEMS
Be sure to pack any necessary medications and personal care items. (ibuprofen, allergy meds, Pepto, etc.)
-
If you sunburn easily, bring aloe vera.
-
If you’re prone to motion sickness, pack Dramamine - especially for boat excursions.
SUNSCREEN, BUG SPRAY, HAND SANITIZER
Sunscreen and bug spray are available at the resort but can be quite expensive (often $50–$60 per item). We strongly recommend bringing your own.

Travelling
01
Arrive at the Airport Early
We recommend arriving at the airport at least 3 hours prior to departure for your international flight. Flight schedules, parking availability, gate assignments, and security wait times can change quickly, so plan accordingly. Check your local airport’s website for specific guidance.
Before you travel:
-
Have a copy (digital or printed) of your boarding pass.
-
Have your return flight information easily accessible.
-
We recommend obtaining a paper boarding pass, as you will need your flight number upon arrival in Costa Rica.
