When you arrive in Guanacaste, you should receive a text message from the carrier advising you are in an international phone plan destination. It advises the daily charge and what is/is not included. It can range between $10-$12 depending on carrier. They simply continue using their phone as normal.
Important - Anyone who is not issued a company phone will not have international service provided. If you are using your personal device, you will need to contact your carrier to add international plan, if wanted.
